TJC Transcripts

Seniors, remember.... you will have a hold on your account until TJC receives and processes your final official high school transcript. These will not go out until approximately June 15, 2012.
If you need an unofficial copy NOW (for registration at another college, etc), you need to contact Dual Credit at 903-510-2200. They can get you an unofficial copy that an advisor could use for registration purposes.
Once TJC processes your high school transcript, the hold on your account will be released. THEN, you can request an official transcript (see below) or follow the directions below to view an unofficial copy.

Final Transcript

At this time, many of you have completed applications for the school(s) of your choice (if you haven't... get on it!). You are probably receiving notification from them that they all have items necessary with the exception of a final high school transcript. This is not going to be available until grades are complete following graduation which is usually around June 15.
There is a sign up sheet in your English classroom, and we will further complete it as the year's end approaches, for you to place your requests on WHERE you need your final high school transcript sent following graduation.
Once grades are finalized, we will mail all the schools you indicated a final transcript for you. However, YOU MUST TELL US WHERE. If you do not, it will not get sent.
******Dual credit students, you must ALSO make sure that you send a final transcript to TJC (even if you are going straight to another institution). You have credits from there that you want transferred  to another school, so you have to get them you information, so that they can release a TJC transcript. With that being said, once we send your information to TJC, YOU MUST CONTACT TJC to request them to send a transcript to your institution.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Good morning my lovely seniors! I wanted to remind you that it IS already March. You only have a couple of months left.... yes, I know you are ready.

Scholarship and financial deadlines are approaching if not already passed. Many schools' PRIORITY deadlines have passed, but still will accept applications and your information. You just will not have priority over others that met the deadline, but it does not mean you will not qualify for ANY. SO GO AHEAD AND SEND IT IN!!

Remember to read all of your scholarships and applications all the way through in order to make sure you don't need information from teachers/staff/community members.... for example, counselor verification, copy of transcripts, letter of recommendation, test scores, and so forth. WE CANNOT DO THESE THINGS WITH ONE DAY NOTICE!!! SO, read thoroughly. I encourage you to track deadlines on a calendar.

I'm DAILY updating the scholarship section on the counselor's page. Check it constantly. Lots of local scholarships are coming in at this time. There are not many of you taking advantage of these, so good for you those that are, because competition is minimal at this point. It's worth attempting even if you feel like you don't have as much involvement, etc as others.

http://www.lindaleeagles.org/school/Lindale-High-School/Counselors  Here is the counselor's website AGAIN. This website has been shown you to repeatedly in your English classrooms. I've had you all write it down AND bookmark it in your cellphones. NO EXCUSES.

Regarding Financial Aid (FAFSA), great job to those of you that took advantage of the TJC workshop. We had a great group show up and all completed their FAFSA within an hour and a half. :) Lots of you qualified FULLY for federal money. It's critical that every question be answered fully and precisely. Remember that completing the FAFSA is a requirement for most schools to even consider you for scholarships and any institutional money.... EVEN IF YOU BELIEVE YOUR PARENTS MAKE TOO MUCH MONEY! Complete it!
***Use data retrieval if at all possible as you complete. There is one other workshop for help with FAFSA available at TJC available on the counselor website, as well. Check out announcement section on the website.

Love you all.
